Warrington Wolves made history on Friday night as a record 12 homegrown players featured in a Super League match — the most in a single game in the club's history.
The landmark figure surpasses the previous record of 11, set when the Wolves faced Salford on 29 August 2025.
Pathway System Strength
The achievement reflects the strength of the club's pathway system. This season, 19 of the 35 players to have featured for Warrington in Super League have been homegrown.
New Heritage Numbers Awarded
The Friday evening also saw two new Heritage Numbers awarded. Pat Irwin became number 1231 and Dan Coop number 1232 after their debuts. Coop is the 59th Squadbuilder-supported player to earn a Warrington Wolves Heritage Number.
Home Record Achievement
The victory equalled another piece of club history, with the Wire recording just one home defeat across the 2026 Super League regular season — matching the 2012 campaign.
Brothers Playing Together
Ewan and Pat Irwin became the 11th pair of brothers to play Super League for the Wolves. The previous ten pairs were: Chris and David Highton, Anthony and Willie Swann, Martin and Mark Gleeson, Chris and Adrian Morley, Vinnie and Louis Anderson, Mick and Joel Monaghan, Chris and Danny Bridge, Ben and Rhys Evans, Toby and George King, and Josh and Jake Thewlis.
Warrington will now aim to make home advantage count in the playoffs next Saturday.
