A mural honouring two-time world darts champion Luke Littler was unveiled on Thursday on the side of Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington. The 19-year-old darts player attended the ceremony as the mural, which features an image of himself with "Born to Win" written at the bottom, was revealed to the public.
Littler's grandmother discovered the mural before the official unveiling. On Wednesday, while travelling on a local bus, she spotted the mural as it was being prepared for the ceremony. She got off the bus to look at it and spoke to the workers involved before contacting other family members.
"I think my nan was on the bus yesterday," Littler said. "She actually came down here, she got off the bus and spoke to the guys that were doing it. Then, she phoned my dad and that's how I found out. She was here before us. Unbelievable."
Littler described the moment as a significant honour. "It's a great honour. It's good to see so many people here as well. I was expecting a fair few people, but it's a 'pinch me' moment. I can't believe this happened," he said.

The mural unveiling took place days after Littler won the 2026 World Matchplay, his 11th PDC major title. Only Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen have won more PDC major titles.
Littler said he hopes other top players, including Van Gerwen, continue to compete at their best. "We're seeing Van Gerwen at the minute who is not playing at his best game - he's down to seventh in the world now is Michael," Littler said. "Personally, I want Michael to get back to his best. He needs to get back to his best to compete with us."
