Warrington Wolves have confirmed that back-rower James Bentley will leave the club at the end of the season. Bentley arrived from Leeds Rhinos on a 12-month deal, having previously played for St Helens and Bradford Bulls.
Bentley's Warrington Career
The Ireland international made his Warrington debut in the Challenge Cup victory over Sheffield Eagles in February, earning heritage number 1222. He returned from a back injury the following month and made his first Super League start against Leigh Leopards in April.
In 18 appearances for the club, Bentley scored two tries, including a crucial score in Warrington's home victory against Catalans Dragons. He became a popular figure among supporters, with fans singing his song: "Bentos, Bentos, boing boing!"
Bentley's Departure Message
Bentley said: "I've loved my time at the club. A huge thank you to Sam for bringing me in. All the lads have been amazing, as have all the staff. The fans have been outstanding. I've loved my song: 'Bentos, Bentos, boing boing!' I'm ready to rip in for the end of the season and finish on a high."
Warrington Wolves thanked Bentley for his contributions in 2026 and wished him well for his next chapter.
